I'm a skunk.

For Halloween this year, I was a skunk. Daddy had the idea - quite fitting for a baby my age for reasons left unsaid :) I went trick or treating with my cousins, Grayson and Dylen, in South Milwaukee. Grayson was a hotdog, and Dylen was a scary dragon! No candy for Grayson and I this year, however, one lady did give us a tube of toothpaste and Skittles!

We followed up trick or treating with a party at the Wucherer's, which was a ton of fun. I need to give a shout out to my Auntie Katie for traveling up to Milwaukee to enjoy the festivities with us :)

Our First Halloween!!

October Milestones: Watch out people... I'm 'bout to start crawlin'

• 10/8/09 - my first experience eating rice cereal... I LOVE IT!! I make loud hungry, hungry baby noises (grunting and panting) and jump around in my bouncy to let mom know I want another bite :)
  
• 10/13/09 - realized that rolling over onto my stomach will eventually lead me to crawling. I've been trying SO HARD for the past week to get my knees underneath my body - all thanks to my Grandpa Patrick showing me that it is possible. I'm almost there!!
  
• 10/19/09 - first time eating carrots. Not as much love (as for rice cereal) for these, but I'll eat them anyway because I'll eat just about anything my parents give me at this point - including clothing and body parts.
  
• 10/20/09 - not really a milestone, but I put my foot through my footed monster pjs... baby with super powers? I think so :)
  

Visit From Grandma & Grandpa Alkire!

Last weekend, Grandma Cynthia & Grandpa Patrick came to visit all the way from Columbus, Ohio. We went out to dinner on Saturday night, over to Aunt Angie & Uncle Bob's house on Sunday, and then drove out to Bob & Kay's in Sauk City on Tuesday. I've been quite the traveler these days :)

Grandpa took quite a liking to me right away. He walked me around when I got fussy... and even changed my poopy diaper!

Grandma & Grandpa - I love you and miss you already. Can't wait to visit and meet Serena & Gypsy this winter! Hurry up and come back soon... Love, Ella

5 months...

Today I am 5 months old, and it seems like I'm hitting a milestone a day! Here are a few little things that I've been up to:

• Sitting up on my own. Mommy helps me with this everyday. She claims it helps with my balance and development... little does she know, I'm using the skills to start moving around on my own (i.e. crawling). She really has no clue what she's getting herself into.
• (Been doing this for awhile, but) Recognizing my bottle as food. Give it to me now!
• Holding my bottle while eating. This is so much better than someone else doing it for you. I have the control - all the control!
• Screaming. I don't do it when I'm sad - just when I'm happy. Get's the 'rents attention 9 times out of 10. They think it's cute... for now.
• Grabbing the kitty's fur. It really does look like it tastes good. Not so much though.
